Let’s Have a Gossip

16 Jan

Hi folks,

Right… let’s have a wee catch up! So far 2017 is getting off to a lovely little start. Well apart from the continued appointments I need for this abscess/cyst I have on my shoulder… the steroid injections really hurt. And… I now have physio fortnightly too, to help with the pain in my back. But… as long as they work/help… then it’s all worthwhile.

I’ve been in full ‘1st Birthday’ planning mode. We’re taking Seth on holiday to Centre Parcs for his first birthday, but I’m thinking I’d like a little low key birthday tea party at home before we go maybe. I’ve already bought Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Party Plates, Party Bags, Napkins & a Banner lol. Eeeeeck! Of course there’s gonna have to be some kind of Mickey Mouse Birthday Cake too. I’m just so excited. I can believe in 2 month time my little handsome man is going to be 1 year old!

We’ve also got a lovely little beach holiday coming up too at the end of May on the Northeast Coast… So excited. I’ve so many great memories of holidaying on the Northeast Coast when I was little. Admittedly… it may not always be the warmest… but the scenery is stunning & the Fish & Chips always seem to taste nicer.

I was asked to write a lovely little guest blog piece for a fantastic, creative little company called Cofi Coo. Once my post is up on their blog – I shall pop the link on here.

I’ve some fab reviews coming up for you all – been chatting to some lovely brands & PR folk… watch this space.

I received a fantastic package from Nuby UK today. 5 gorgeous items for me & Seth to review.

  • Trainer Sipeez
  • Toddler Training Spoons & Forks
  • Toddler Training Suction Plate
  • Octopus Hoopla
  • Build a Buddy

I love the Nuby brand… well made & vibrant. Seth is just so in to everything right now. He’s loving playing with toys & exploring all of the textures & shapes. I shall be reviewing each item & writing a full review with lots of pics 🙂

We discovered a new tooth yesterday! I can’t believe my little boy has 8 teeth! He’s standing up unaided too. When people said to me that time flies when you have a baby.. I don’t think I actually appreciated just how fast! I mean, today I was yet again sorting through clothes that are too small for him. I have them all packaged up in the loft. Hopefully to use again if we’re blessed enough to have another bambino at some point in the not so distant future. I just love being a Mammy so much. I feel like I waited so long to be a one.

I’m totally into my healthy eating right now too. When I’m eating healthy I’m always so much happier. Healthy foods seem to make you feel happier & more positive about everything. Low fat, low sugar & lots of colour.I need to get my website updated so badly with some new recipes. Tonight for tea I made a really yummy turkey stir fry with freekeh grains & salad. Freekeh is very much like bulgar wheat – I love it. And, it’s practically impossible to ruin when you cook it!

I know this is probably really sad… but I’m already planning for this coming Christmas too! Well, you all know it’s like my most favourite time of the year! I’ve gotten most of my Christmas cards already, gift wrap & ribbons & bows. We’ve also booked a lovely Winter Wonderland holiday to Centre Parcs again. We’ll be away Christmas week – so that means we’ll be celebrating our 6th Wedding Anniversary while we’re holidaying in the forest. We will be home for actual Christmas though. I just cannot wait. I love to have things to work toward & look forward too. Seeing Seth’s little face as he met Santa etc… was just magical. That’s why we just had to book & do it all over again. If you’ve always fancied going to Centre Parcs – I truly recommend going around Christmastime… it’s just so magical. I mean, we’ve been at all different times of the year… but it’s most magical during the Winter Wonderland season.

Talking of Christmas… luckily last week we had some gorgeous storage arrive from Mothercare to home some of Seth’s new toys. Since he plays downstairs – obviously, it kinda makes sense to have most of this toys in the sitting room. Although, we have had to add more shelving in his room for his Charlie bear & various Disney Characters. I love how excited he gets when he’s playing with all of his toys.

My driving lessons are going well… I’ve had 8 lessons now. I so wish I’d just bitten the bullet years ago & learnt to drive when I was a lot younger. But I always used being a poor student as an excuse. But really… it’s not an excuse. I’ve kind of waited to the point where I NEED to drive. I need to be able to drive my little bambino around to all of his social engagements, rather than just relying on the hubster all of the time to be our chauffeur lol. Although, I guess it is kinda nice to be chauffeured 🙂 I am so happy though that my leg doesn’t seem to pose a problem. That’s been such a relief.

Oh, I’d like to say a big thank you for the fantastical & positive response I had to my article in New! Magazine. I was so nervous… but everyone seemed to love it – so, thank you so very very very much.

I did make a shocking discovery last week actually… You may already know this but, did you know that the series Stalker has been cancelled? I mean… why!? I loved that series! It was so good & I really wanted to know what was going to happen between Jack & Beth! And, an even bigger shocker… Grimm has been cancelled too! So this next series that is to start soon, is only like 11 episodes long & that’s it! No more!!! I’m simply heartbroken! Why do I feel so sad when a series comes to an end? It’s like that same sad grieving feeling you have when you watch the last episode of Friends. I love me a good TV series. At least the new Prison Break is starting soon… YESSSSSS! That should help with those sad feelings of loss.

Apart from that… life has been same old same old really… Going out for lunch, going to Music Bugs & Play Group, etc… I’m kind of a creature of habit really. I know what I like… & I like what I know lol. honestly… I’d eat out at the same place every time if the hubster would let me get away with it lol. I’m one of those annoying people too who literally orders the same thing off the menu too lol.

So… there you have it… that’s what I’ve been up too.

Thanks so much for reading… it’s lovely to see so many new countries being added to my reader statistics.

    Living ‘Sparkly’ the IxxyPoco Way

    9 Aug

    Hi folks ✨

Well… It’s no secret that I like fancy things. I love to live life sparkly & being surrounded by nice things & designer labels. I like eating nice food & drinking sparkly yumminess. But, I like all of these things at the best bargain price.

I’m the Queen of coupons & the Princess of bargain shopping. There’s no shame in bargain hunting. The cost of living has become so high that quite often treats are forgotten. Well, life is for living & I love a treat.

I’m such a handbag & purse pervert… I’m always scouring glossy magazines for the latest stunning arm candy. Once I have my heart set on a new bag – I’ll stop at nothing until it’s mine. Generally I’ll head to my current bags that I own & I’ll either have a cull & sell anything I’ve not used in the last 12months & put the money toward my new purchase. Or… I’ll get down to some good old saving. Even if it’s just £5 a month… I’ll save until I have the pennies to buy it. I’ve just sold 5 handbags & with the money I’ve managed to buy myself a new Kate Spade Purse & a Vivienne Westwood Tote. It’s a great way of freeing up some room as well as buying something new. And, your old bags go to a new home. It’s kind of like recycling really. I really need to start organising ‘swishing’ parties. A Swishing Party is basically where everyone brings something they no longer want, then you swap with someone else. So you could bring clothes, shoes, bags, scarves… Anything really! Such a good idea & a money saver! Plus, it’s a good excuse to get the girlies over to sip some sparkles. Talking of sparkles…

Sparkles ✨ Now, we all know I love a glass of sparkles. Whether it be a good bottle of Champagne or a cheap Cava. The whole reason I call it sparkles is so it’s very ambiguous as what’s in my glass. It’s always bubbly, it’s always dry… But is it always Champagne? Heck no! I’d love to be sipping Moet every weekend, but that’s become rather pricey! So, my wine rack consists of Cava that I’ve bought at £4 on offer, Prosecco when it’s 5 for £25 & Champagne when there’s money off. Even Moet, Lanson & Veuve go on offer sometimes. When they do I tend to buy a bottle to keep for a special occasion. Places like Aldi & Asda are great for picking up a bottle of Champagne for £10… Sometimes cheaper if you’re lucky.

Food… Now I LOVE food! I cook from scratch & I make my own sauces. Meat etc… Can be a bit pricey at times. But it’s all about where you shop & quantities. If you follow my diet page you’ll know I use my Crock Pot a lot. I buy my meat pre-frozen from Asda which saves a lot. I tend to buy whole fresh chickens as it’s cheaper to buy a whole chicken sometimes & then it’s lasts a good few days. There’s so many different things you can make with chicken. I buy rice & pasta in bulk. I’m lucky & have a big walk in pantry which is great for storage. I tend to buy giant sacks of pasta & rice which is so much cheaper. I also buy tinned items in bulk too whenever I see an offer. If I see a vegetable offer in a local market I’ll buy it in bulk then blanch & freeze them. We eat well… We have gorgeous food… But at a good price.

Make up… I couldn’t live without the stuff. Again I buy when there’s an offer. I buy most of my make from Debenhams & Boots. Both places have excellent points cards. It’s the best way to buy. Make sure you use the offers & coupons to boost your points. That way you build up a good balance to spend at a later date. I can get up to £200 worth of boots points on my card within 6 month. It just makes your pennies go that little bit further. I also have some amazing acrylic storage which I bought from Muji. It’s so much cheaper than a Kardashian Acrylic Cube.

Somethings in life I won’t scrimp on like SKY TV (sad I know lol) Eating Out & things for Seth. But that’s fine because I try to get everything else at a bargain price lol.

So there you have it… This is my sparkly way of living life ‘fancy’ & Sparkly ✨

Thanks for reading & have a great day 💕

    Weaning, Decluttering and Wildlife

    3 Aug

    Hi folks ✨

I really need to get my blogger head back on & get blogging more regularly again. I just seem to be mega busy lately… But it’s all good… Lots of exciting things in the pipeline!

So… My hubster has a new job!!! I’m so incredibly proud & excited for him! He works so hard & really deserves this ✨ That’s the first bit of good news for the Summer. The next lot shall follow shortly… Hopefully!

As I mentioned in a previous post – I’ve started to wean Seth. He’s now 20wks old… Can you believe that!? 20wks into my pregnancy & I felt like I’d been pregnant a year! 20wks since he was born & it’s literally flown by. He’s loving his food. I’ve started him with puréed vegetables. The only things he’s tried that he didn’t like was banana & then cauliflower. Although, on Monday I made up a batch of sweet potato & cauliflower… Sneaky! He seems to be loving all the new flavours. He’s also really not struggled with eating from a spoon at all. In fact, when I put him in his high chair he gets so excited. Well… Apart from when he’s yawning like in the pic above lol.

Each morning he has a little porridge then each teatime he has some puréed veggies. To start with, I tried some Ella’s Kitchen veg pouches, just to gauge what he liked & so I could get an idea of what kind of consistency to make. If you’re not already signed up, then you need to sign up with Bounty & Cow & Gate. Both provide a r ally great FREE weaning pack. Full of advice, tips, recipes, coupons & freebies! My top tips for weaning:

    • Oilcloth Bib
    • Hand blender
    • Small freezer pots
    • Take your time

Seth has taken to food so well. I only hope when the consistency becomes more chunky he’s as accepting as he was with the purée. Has it helped with his sleeping? Well, Seth has been sleeping right through the night since he was 8wks old. He’ll sleep anything from 7 to 10hrs per night. So it’s hard to tell really. He has moved into his cot in his own room though. I was so gutted. But he’s outgrown his SnüzPod. I cried for the first 2 nights, but he’s taken to it so well. I’d say that has improved his sleep a little. In his SnüzPodhed shuffle around a bit if he heard me or Graham moving around. Whereas now he has no interruptions.

I’ve been on a huge declutter this week. I’m a very tidy organised person… But sometimes I can become a bit lazy & start shoving things in cupboards instead of tidying properly. I opened my handbag wardrobe the other day & was almost flattened by a ton of bags! (Slight exaggeration) So… I decided to be brutal… Any bag that hasn’t been used in the last 12 month is for the chop. So far, I’ve sold 5 bags. I have another on eBay, along with a purse too. What am I planning to do with the money!? Well of course I’ll be buying another handbag lol. I tend to buy designer handbags, then when I stop using them I sell them. Then buy a new one. To me it’s like recycling. Although I do have bags that I’ll never part with… Bags that will forever be a classic. So I’ve whittled my collection down to 7 hand bags, 4 clutch bags & 3 purses. I simply love a declutter! So, watch this space for my next hand bag purchase lol. I was thinking Mulberry, but then as a good friend pointed out – there are a lot around at the moment along with a huge amount of fakes. Which is true… So I’m thinking a nice Vivienne Westwood Tote or another Gucci. I’m such a handbag pervert lol.

As a family, we’ve been so busy lately. Every weekend seems to have been filled with engagements. This weekend though… We have a free weekend! We’ve decided to have a little family outing to The Yorkshire Wildlife Park. It’s one of those places that we’ve always wanted to visit, but never quite gotten around to. I’m so excited. I’ve even been planning what to pack in our picnic lol. I just love a list & an excuse to organise. I love an outing. I can’t wait to show Seth all of the cute furry animals 💙
That in a wee nutshell is what I’ve been up too. I know I say it all of the time – but I am going to make a massive effort with my blogging from now on to make it more regular again! I’ve also got a blog post in the pipeline all about York & the best places to drink sparkles ✨

Once again… Thanks so much for reading & for all of the lovely messages I receive 💙

Don’t forget to check my website out 💕

    Bumbags and Parenting

    8 Apr

    Hi folks ✨

Bumbags/Fanny Packs… What a strange fashion era that was! Although… You do still spot a few around don’t you!? Lol. Well… I bought an amazing little accessory for Seth’s pram. I bought us a Skip Hop Pram Orgnaiser… Or as I like to call it… The Pram Bumbag or for my American readers: Pram Fanny Pack. It’s ace! You know when you’re strolling along & suddenly you have a situation which requires immediate attention from a muslin cloth or a soother… Or the all important hand sanitizer or lippy touch up!? Well this accessory supports all of the above. It attaches around your handle bars… Do you even call it a handle bar!? I’m so not up on the Mammy lingo yet lol. Anyways… It attaches to the area that you use to steer your pram & you can keep all the things in there you need pronto.

There’s also a zippy pocket on the front you can use to keep a bit of change in or your iPhone etc… In our bumbag we have:

    • Muslin Cloth
    • Soother/Pacifier/Dummy (I hate the word dummy)
    • Tissues
    • Hand Sanitiser
    • Bottle of Water
    • Compact Mirror
    • Lipstick

Obviously you don’t want to overload it… But it’s so handy! It’s really well made too. I only paid £22 for it from Ocado… So it was delivered along with my groceries… How convenient is that!? I love anything that organises things & makes life easier! Oh & if it vaguely resembles any kind of a bag… Then you’re onto a winner in my eyes lol.

These last two weeks have consisted of getting used to driving my pram – yes if I pass you in the street then there’s a high chance I’ll totally now you down. The pram steers so well… Me…? Not so much lol. I’m the worlds most clumsy person. There’s also been a lot of lunches out. Purely so I can get used to feeding Seth in public & using changing facilities. I may sound stupid but those two things really kinda worried me a bit. But… It’s all been great. I think I’m actually more confident that I give myself credit for. Some people have always looked after babies & have a natural maternal flare. But I’ve never babysat in my life… I’d never really changed a nappy & certainly never gotten a babies wind up! I’ve literally had to fathom everything from scratch. But you know what!? My Mam was right… Everything came so naturally. It’s like I just knew what to do. So many people ask; “So… How are you finding it!?” “Are you stressed?” “It’s so much hard work isn’t it!?” Well… Yeah… It is hard work in the sense that you now have this gorgeous but helpless little person who needs you 24/7 & you feel constantly concerned for him coz you just want him to be content. But… Being a Mammy so far, for me, is so much easier than being pregnant. I’m not scared to admit that pregnancy for me was super hard. I had months of no sleep with extreme pain… I was constantly throwing up… Etc… Etc… I mean the good side of being poorly a lot in pregnancy meant I had a lot of time on my hands to organise & get ready for Seth’s arrival. And you can never be too prepared. But once Seth arrived… My pain massively reduced… I had no more sickness & I felt like me again. I adore being a Mammy 💙

     Lunch pics:

These platters were consumed on two separate occasions lol… Not at the same time. It’s fair to say that my fave wine bar makes the most amazing sharing platters. They also serve tea… Just in case you think I’ve been a total a wino all week lol.

Also in these last two weeks I have been fully inducted into the ‘Not So Glammy Mammy Club’… I’ve been pooped on… Wee’d on & puked on! Woo hoo! At least I now know what to expect lol. Maybe I should pop some perfume or fabreeze in that pram bumbag? I may be wearing make up & trying to look my best… But chances are I’ll be sporting a eau de vommy toilet aroma lol.

Wow… I never expected to write the words: Poop, Wee, Puke & Bumbags in a blog post. But hey… That’s parenting! Lol. You know what though!? I wouldn’t change it for the world, coz now I have the most amazing little human in my life

Well… I’d best dash… My little human will need his breakfast very soon 💙

    Thanks again for reading!

Pregnancy, Push Presents & Pretty Things

    29 Feb

    Hi folks ✨

Well, this past week has been purely dedicated to sorting out Baby Bears nursery. I’ve been sorting & folding all of his clothes & arranging them into size order. I’ve not been well, so I’ve been trying to be as productive as possible. Sitting & organising is something that I can definitely do

I think our little poppet has an outfit for any occasion. It’s a good job I have my name down for a few baby groups/classes already as he’ll need a good social life to get everything worn at least once!
Couldn’t help but buy a few more books too for his reading corner

You really do not need to spend much money at all when it comes to finding lovely books for kids. I picked these two up in Poundland. The illustrations in ‘Jellyfish are Disgusting!’ are utterly stunning. Such a lovely little book. I think I’ve read most of the books to him already… So hoeofully when he’s born there’ll all be very familiar to him.

I wrote a blog post a wee while back about Subtle Whispers. Well, you’ll be able to remember that I was sent a gorgeous luxury hamper from their stunning baby range. The basket it came in was so beautiful that I needed to somehow use it in his nursery. It’s just too lovely not to use. I decided to use it on his changing station in his nursery

It’s big enough to hold 2 packs of wipes, 10 diapers & cream. In fact I’d be able to add cotton balls too. I love the basonette shape. I love a useful gift. The baby hampers they sell are fantastic! The garments inside are beautiful quality. You need to head to their website 💙

I’ve been discussing the idea of ‘push presents’ on social media over this last week. It turns out that there was an even split on who received them & who didn’t. If you’re not familiar with the term – it’s basically a gift for new Mammy’s after they’ve given birth. Obviously the greatest gift you’ll ever receive after your pregnancy is holding your little miracle. But I wouldn’t me if I didn’t totally take advantage of this ‘push’ present malarkey! So… Of course I went window shopping for a new handbag ☺️ I can confirm I’ve chosen a beautiful tote that I’ll be allowed to have once our Prince has arrived. In fact… I’ve been researching the ‘perfect’ Mammy bags… Not changing bags… But an additional handbag that’s Mammy friendly. So look out for that blog post coming up soon. I know I’m becoming a Mammy & many people tell me I won’t ever use a bag again apart from a diaper bag & I’ll not be me anymore blah blah blah… But I can honestly say that I will always be me. I will always love bags. I will always love make up. I have plenty friends who have children & kept their personalities. Life will change, well life already has changed really, but I’ll always be Hayley.

I’ve also sent my parents the ‘push present memo’ too lol. Shy Bairns get nowt as my Nana used to say. Gosh I wish she was here to meet her Great-Grandson 💙

Back to bags though… I’ve bought Baby Bear a handmade diaper wallet

I love it. It’s oil cloth so will wipe down really easily. There is a velcro fastening & has 3 large pockets inside. There’s enough room for 5 diapers, travel changing mat & wipes. I thought this would be handy for when you’re out in a restaurant etc… And you want to pop to the loo without lugging your diaper bag. It looks so cute in his changing bag.

So this week… I have tests, scans & a dentist appointment. Tomorrow is a full afternoon at hospital. I have another scan & there’s lots of tests they want to carry out. There’s also some complications I need to flag up too with my consultant. Pain is getting pretty bad at times & I’m having problems with some previous surgery complications. Let’s hope I’ll find out when my baby bears delivery day will be 💙 we so cannot wait to meet him ✨

So that’s what I’ve been up too… Not a lot really lol.

I’m gonna leave this post here – thanks so much for reading!

    Have a fantastic Monday!

    Love & Huggles,

    Hayley xxx

    Festive Fun with Friends

    20 Dec

    Hi Folks ✨

Sunday once again… I do love a slow paced relaxing Sunday. I’m feeling thoroughly Christmassy… Not that I wasn’t already, but, since we had such a fun, festive Saturday – I’m now feeling feeling ‘super’ Christmassy!

I’m sat blogging from my dinning table & I can smell our fresh Christmas centre piece arrangement… it smells so nice. It’s really putting me a fantastical mood. We also bought some little snowmen on sticks from the florists yesterday to pop into our house plants in case they were feeling left out with not being all dressed for Christmas 🎄

Yesterday evening we had friends over for a catch up. We headed into the Village for a stunning Indian Meal. I really meant to take lots of pics of the yummy food, but we got chatting & laughing  & it completely slipped my mind. So I’m sorry I have no pics to share. After a gorgeous meal, we headed back to our home for more chatting. I drank sparkling water all night with one glass of cranberry juice… I actually felt really giddy & tipsy! I think I was having such a lovely time I got caught up in the Christmas spirit. See… who says you need alcohol to have a good time. Not drinking really doesn’t phase me at all. I didn’t drink at all during all of my surgeries, so this time round I just see it as a happier reason not to be drinking. Having said that… I do have some gorgeous Moet waiting in the pantry for me when our little Prince arrives. That shall be my little tipple of choice when I feel I want to celebrate his arrival 💙

This morning I sorted out our menu for the coming week… lol… it’s so not a healthy one! Tomorrow is our 4th Wedding Anniversary. Normally we either go away for the weekend to celebrate or we go for a lovely meal somewhere… but as the hubster doesn’t finish work until 23rd Dec for Christmas, then with Coco recovering from surgery & with me being up & down with sickness… we made the executive decision to celebrate at home for a change. So… It’s gonna be some kind of naughty take out for tea & for pudding we’ll be cutting our Christmas cake which was lovingly made by my Mammy. Wednesday evening shall be party table snacks as we’re having our neighbours over for a festive drinkie. Christmas Eve will be spent with our best friends for a meal at lunchtime followed party food in the evening & copious amounts of pink lemonade & Christmas films! Then Christmas Day will be a day of consuming homemade Christmas Dinner followed by lots of chocolate lol. Eeeeeck! I just can’t wait!!! ✨

Ooooo… Today I’ve started using my first item that The Journal Shop kindly sent me. I’m using my small Un Jour De Reve notebook from the Iconic range. It’s a gorgeous little book that is stitch bound down the spine. It’s a great price at £2.95.  I’m using mine to keep track of the items I’m sent for reviews. It’s the perfect size to fit in your handbag. It’s so light meaning it won’t be a chore to carry around. In fact, it’s so slim & lightweight that it’ll fit quite nicely in the inner zip pocket you tend to find in most hand bags. It’d be great for making your shopping lists in! I love the little cute rabbit design too. The paper itself is very good quality. I like writing in liquid gel ink & sometimes you find with a low quality paper that a black ink will come through the pages which I utterly hate! But there’s no chance of that happening in this little beauty! It also comes in 4 different designed covers… so you can choose the one that most suits you. Or… at £2.95… why not buy all 4!? I’ve also been using my Iconic Sticky Book too. Priced at only £4.95… This is another little bargain. It’s so slim & lightweight that it’ll fit inside the front pocket on my personal Filofax. So it’ll fit comfortably in any A5 organiser. There are 3 different sized sticky notes – great for little reminders or tabbing up pages making them easy to access during meetings when you need to find facts & figures fast. This book is also from the Iconic range & my book is the ‘Antique’ design cover… but there are 9 designs to choose from. This is another item I can thoroughly recommend. When you’re working between two sites like I do – everything needs to be ‘travel’ friendly… I hate having to lug around a heavy bag. So both these little stationary items are brilliant for on the move as they’ll tuck away neatly & won’t add any extra weight. I’m going to use my Un Jour De Reve medium notebook this week… I have some little ideas of what I’ll use it for… so stay tuned for a little breakdown & review of that. I LOVE this stationary!!! It’s just such good quality & well… It looks & feels fancy. I work in a University library… so I can be a bit snobby with how a book is put together & I have to say… I love a stitch bound book. Now… does that sound sad!? Lol.

After a lovely slow relaxing morning it was time to get a bubble bath. I’m making the most of my bubble baths right now as I’m sure it won’t be long until I’m finding it difficult to get in & out of the bath & will have to make do with just a shower. I decided to use some festive bubbles from Avon… But opened a new bottle of Molton Brown for my ‘wash bubbles’. I love this scent – Black Peppercorn… It’s my favourite Molton Brown fragrance 🛀🏻

There’s nothing nicer than a lovely soak in the tub ✨

This afternoon had been spent watching Star Wars

There’s nothing cosier than snuggling on the sofa on a wintry day watching films ❤️

Tomorrow marks our 4th Wedding Anniversary & I simply couldn’t be happier. We’ve been spoilt with gifts as usual. The hubster surprised me with the new Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Palette – so there’ll be a full review of that coming up!!! My parents buy us Champagne & Truffles every year, so even though I can’t drink it right now – they didn’t want to break tradition.

So… What a gorgeous little Sunday today has been! I’m off now to watch another Star Wars film lol ✨

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday & thanks for reading 💕

    Love & Huggles,

    Hayley xxx

    Christmas Holidays

    14 Dec

    Hi Folks ✨

So I’m now on my official Christmas Countdown! As of 12noon Friday gone – I began my Christmas holidays. I’ve then got annual leave until the end of January 2016… Followed by my maternity leave commencing Feb 2016 to Feb 2017 💙

Friday was such a lovely last day at work… Well… half day. I had loads of paperwork to finish off, so I started the day with a large Chococcino & a Cadbury ‘reindeer’ Chocolate Cake

I was given a lovely ‘Thank You’ card off Amanda at work. I’ve literally only known her a few weeks – but she’s so lovely.

I also got a little plant from everyone as an ‘annual leave’ gift lol
It’s so cute & is currently living on my kitchen windowsill. I’m a bit superstitious & I didn’t want any ‘baby’ gifts yet. Plus, I’ve not officially started my maternity leave yet either. I have plenty time now to organise my baby shower. I was initially thinking of having it here at home, but since there’s so many people already who want to come – I think it’s gonna be easier to book somewhere & have it there instead. Plus, Coco will be beside herself if there’s too many people here. I mean I have two nice big reception rooms… But I can’t be bothered making constant cups of tea lol. So… I’m thinking I’m gonna source somewhere nice to have afternoon tea. Then they can have the mess to clear up lol 💙

After loads of Huggles all round I headed into to town just to have a little look round the shops… Then I picked up a naughty KFC lunch, then headed home. I figured I was allowed a KFC since it was a bit of a celebratory day. When I got home one of my lovely neighbours popped round with a parcel she’d taken in for me. Oooooooo & it was from Paperchase!!!

They’ve sent me a cute little organiser & an index box file. I’m gonna use them over the course of this week & I’ll give a full review of them at the end of the week. But just on how they look… They’re super cute! Thank you Paperchase for sending me such lovely items 💕

Friday evening was spent looking at my website I’m having built. My hubster bought me my domain name bless him. My website is looking so good!!! It just needs some tweaks etc… But the colours & the layout look fantastic. I’m gonna have some pages on there dedicated to my reviews. So for any companies who would like to contact me, it’ll be even easier. Of course my blog will be on there too, along with all of my social media channels. Here’s a little sneaky peeky:

I’ve been asked a few times to start a video blog. Is that something you’d like to see? So many people have approached me about lit now that I’m seriously starting to think about it.

Saturday was spent with the hubster ❤️ We popped to town to buy one more thing for under the tree for him, then we headed to Wetherspoons for lunch. You gotta love Wetherspoons for how cheap & cheerful it is. The food is always nice from our local Wetherspoons. The weather was horrid & rainy, so it was very much needed, to sit & have a relax over a nice lunch. While we were sat relaxing I received loads of pics from my Mam of all the snow they had this weekend… I was so jealous!!! ❄️🌨☃
They ended up with several inches of snow!!! We live in South Yorkshire & we literally get no snow! We get like a little flurry now & then. My hubster is from Liverpool & he’s said that down there they don’t get much either. Yet up in County Durham they get some beautiful amounts of snow. It makes me quite ‘homesick’ for where I’m from. I love where we live & I’m really happy here… But now we’re starting our own little family – I think we’d like to look into maybe relocating over the next few year. I’d love our little ones to grow up in such a pretty part of the U.K. with snowy winters. Plus it’d be lovely to have the support of my Mammy too. I also feel as though we’re missing out on so much with our little niece growing up. She’s the only niece we’ll ever have as my hubster is an only child & my brother is the only uncle our children will have. Maybe it’s because it’s Christmas… But I seem to be missing my family a lot lately 💙

When we got home from town my BirchBox was waiting for me. It was beautiful!!!

It arrived in a glitzy clutch bag – I think I’m gonna use it as a pretty sparkly make up bag. Inside I had:

    • Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream
    • Model & Co Lippy
    • Ciate Nail Polish
    • Skin & Co Shower Gel
    • Benefits They’re Real Liner
    • Benefits Puff Off Eye Cream
    • Face Mask

So worth every penny at the bargain price of £6.95… Especially when the collective total is £60+ I’ve had word that there’s still some left! So follow this link then add code: CLOUDXMAS to order yours!

Sunday was a gorgeous day 🎄 we got to spend the day with Carol & Eddie at their Wedding. Although, I was a little stressed about finding something to wear for the Wedding since my bump is getting bigger & bigger everyday

Luckly I managed to shimmy into a size 16 TopShop number. It was actually so comfy – so that was a massive plus!!! The Wedding didn’t start until 3pm, but from 12noon I was by the Brides side ✨ I did hair & make up & then helped her get into her gorgeous dress. We even watched Elf to calm some nerves ☺️ She drank sparkles while I drank Diet Coke lol… It was such a lovely start to the day. So so so Christmassy 🎄 The Wedding took place at the Race Course – it was so beautiful inside.
The service was lovely & the reception was utterly stunning
I was so unbelievably touched by a gorgeous little gift I was presented with

Such a gorgeous delicate sparkly necklace.

All day I’d been craving a Cadbury Wispa bar… Then at 7pm when the evening guests arrived… My friends hubster was an utter star & turned up with this!!!

     What an utter hero! Lol.

It was a lovely day & an amazing evening spent with fantastic people & surrounded by Christmas trees 🎄 What more could you want!?  Now I’m just feeling utterly Christmassy… Even more than before ✨

So… My first day of my Christmas Holidays has been spent in my Christmas Mickey Mouse Pyjamas snuggling Coco

Coco’s favourite place to sleep these days is on her brother… She loves my bump 💙

My Little Box arrived today!!! It’s such a good box this month… My Little Magic Box

The the thing I love about My Little Box is that you don’t just get beauty products… You get lifestyle products too. To subscribe it’s £11 per month plus £3.95 p&p. This month I received:

    Wonderful Weekends

    7 Dec

    Hi Folks ✨

Wow… well this weekend has been a fantastical one… It’s been spent with loved ones… Just the way I like it. As you all know, it was a little touch & go whether my parents would would be able to make it for the weekend with my Dad being poorly. Normally they’d travel down on a Friday evening, but because my Daddy has been poorly they arrived on Saturday morning instead,  after picking up a much needed prescription. Then they headed on down to chilly South Yorkshire. I already had my dining table set up for our North Pole Breakfast… well actually… it became more of a brunch after all of the initial cuddling & gossiping we did as they arrived. My mammy made us an amazing Christmas cake & a gorgeous Apple Bakewell Tart. So… we basically drank tea… drank mango juice… ate Christmas Tree shaped crumpets & various sweet treats I’d purchased from Ocado. The Heston Blumenthal mince pies were truly delicious & worth every penny! Even though they’d proved a controversial choice to my parents as they’re fond of the ‘traditional’ mince pie… but… they were totally converted. They’re worth every penny!

My Mammy is so talented… The hours of work she has spent knitting some beautiful garments, along with pram blankets & a Royal sleeping bag. I’m not a big lover of ‘blue’… So she’s made the sleeping bag in the most gorgeous mint green. It’s simply stunning. Already his little wardrobe is building. I love homemade knitwear… It’s just so personal & full of love. Sometimes tradition is the way forward. I can’t wait to see what she does with the Christening cape I’ve asked her to knit.

During brunch I received a special delivery from MAM UK They’ve sent me an amazing Breastfeeding Starter Kit. Such a lovely company to deal with… I cannot recommend them enough. (See my blog post ‘Mammy to Be’ for a full in depth review of MAM UK.)

Normally when my parents visit we go out & about & shopping… but we decided upon a really relaxed ‘stay at home’ Saturday. I wasn’t gonna argue at that, since I’m still a bit under the weather. It was lovely just spending much needed quality time together surrounded by Christmassy-ness & Christmas Music.

Ooooh, we did pop out though to put the lotto on & to pop into Sainsbury’s to buy Mog’s Christmas Calamity. I bought a one for my little niece & a one for Baby T. It’s by Judith Kerr who wrote came to tea. At least £2 of the proceeds from Mogs Christmas Calamity go to Save the Children – helping Children with literacy. An amazing worthwhile charity. Go get your copy before they all sell out!!!

With my appetite being a little up & down & obviously with my new Crock Pot purchase… I decided home cooked healthy food was the way forward & I opted to test drive the Crock Pot. I made a Moroccan inspired Pork Stew & served alongside couscous… it was divine! You can find all of my recipes via Facebook on my Diet Page. Every plate was literally clean… so it’s safe to say that my recipe & the Crock Pot were a major success! I have to say though… That I needn’t have bothered with the homemade food & all of my little decorations, as the star of the show seemed to be my Lindt chocolate Santa place settings lol… Honestly my mam & Dad just loved them so much! They are pretty neat little things & would be great for parties or Christmas Weddings… either as favours or place settings or both! I bought mine for £4 for two packs. Each Santa is individual with a little place to add someone’s name.

The rest of the evening was spent cozied up chatting & drinking hot drinks.

Sunday morning seemed to come so quick… So that meant my Mam & Dad were packing up & ready for their drive back up to Durham. They always leave pretty early on a Sunday, to give me & the hubster a day to ‘us’ over the weekend. I mean, when you’re working full time Mon – Fri… It is nice to have some time to spend together & to have a chill out before Monday morning arrives again.

Although… I had a busy Sunday a head of me in the shape of Carol’s Surprise Hen Party. Around 10 of us headed up to The Earl of Doncaster for a Champagne Afternoon Tea… Although mine was ‘lemonade’ based rather than Champagne. Oh how I miss my sparkles… It’s all for a good cause though. It was so lovely. It was exactly what Carol wanted… Fancy, Low Key & Christmassy. There was a pianist in the corner of the large room singing Christmassy tunes… It was just really lovely. But obviously… we all ate far too much… Oooops!

When I got home I was very much ready to slip straight into my Christmassy PJs & cuddle up with the hubster & the Chi. Coco was actually sat waiting for me to come home… She’s such a little sweetheart! No early night was on the cards though with it being the ‘I’m a Celebrity’ final!!! And of course Vicky won it! I’m so chuffed she won it… I really do love her zest. She’s super funny too. A very deserving winner in my eyes with all of the trials she completed. I’d be no good in the jungle lol… I like my creature comforts too much & I’m so not brave when it comes to insects, no make up & curly hair! lol… Eeeeck living without my hair straighteners for me would be an utter nightmare! Did you know that I have 3 pairs of GHDs, 1 pair of She & 1 pair of Kodo just in case one breaks??? lol… seriously… curly locks isn’t a good look for me lol.

So after a busy Sunday… I was very tired this morning & of course needed my Choccocino for when I got to my desk. This week also marks my last week before beginning my Christmas Holidays… followed by annual leave… followed by maternity leave. So as of this Friday I shall be off work until February 2017! Can you actually believe that!? So you can expect lots more blogging & fabulous reviews as I’m currently working with some fantastic companies right now.

Today just randomly turned into a ‘meatfree’ Monday. I do try & make us at least one vegetarian meal a week as I’m conscious of having too much meat in our diet. Lunch was a lovely homemade salad of lettuce, rocket, cucumber, peppers, olives & mixed veg cous cous.

Tea was vegetable fajita’s… So nice.

I’m still trying to be healthy with ‘most’ of my food choices during this pregnancy.

Tomorrow is gonna be pretty exciting… The hubster is off work all day as we’re having our new carpets fitted!!! We’re having new carpet in the lounge, porch, stairs, landing & the nursery. I’m so glad that we could schedule it in before Christmas. I just can’t wait to have everything all nice & neat & tidy in time for Christmas. I’ve literally wanted new carpets since we moved in, in March. But there just seemed bigger things to do before the carpets. I think next Summer will see the dining room & lounge being totally re-decorated & possibly new double glazing… we shall see!

Well… I shall leave this post here.

    Thanks again for reading!

    Mammy To Be

    7 Dec

    Hi Folks,

As a first time Mammy to be… It can be a little scary & daunting reading up on this whole new world that you’re entering. As most of you know, me & my hubby have wanted a baby for sometime, but with having to have various other surgeries over the years… we weren’t quite sure how easy or quick this would happen for us. Luckily… we conceived naturally & have later found out that we’re really lucky to have done so since finding out about my fibroids & the infection I have in my womb… So this little baby boy of ours is our very own little miracle 💙

I’ve been doing so much research online around different companies… especially the ones who make bottles, sterilisers etc… I’ve decided that I really do want to give breastfeeding a go. Since I’m not allowed to give birth naturally for various medical reasons… I feel as though I want to do this as a bonding thing & because so many medical professionals say it gives your baby a great start. I have spent such a lot of time researching breast pumps etc… So if I’m successful at breastfeeding my husband can be a part of it too. Well… One company that kept jumping out at me is MAM baby UK. If I’m totally honest, the first thing that first appealed to me about this company was it’s name. I’m from the Northeast so we say ‘Mam’ instead of ‘Mum’ lol… as silly as that sounds, it was literally a big green light for lol. But not just that… They’ve won so many awards too… This company really does just seem like the one for me. I haven’t technically used any of their products yet as my baby boy isn’t here yet, but already I feel more confident about entering the breastfeeding arena with some fantastic knowledge & products behind me.

MAM have sent me the breastfeeding starter kit & it’s fab. Again, I’ve not physically used the set yet, but would it be wrong to say I can’t wait until I can? They have a fantastic online shop with some great prices right now. I was actually planning on buying this set this weekend from a well known high street retailer for £75.00. Right now however, you can buy the set direct from MAM at the bargain price of £37.50 here. It’s a great kit to get you started. The postage costs are a flat rate of £3.99 within the UK. The set includes:

    • Manual breast pump
    • 3x 160ml anti-colic bottles
    • 3x sealing discs
    • 3x storage solution
    • 2x nipple shields with a serilisable carry case
    • 10x breast pads
    • Anti-colic bottle top
    • Teat tongs

I know a lot of you have been in touch with me to talk more about sterilisers. Hopefully Mam may send me a one & I’ll be able to pass on my findings to you 🙂 I still haven’t bought a steriliser as I’m still looking at reviews myself etc… Is it just be who gets overly obsessed with researching these things? lol

They also have a great little offer on right now with a Try Me Bottle & Soother. It comes in white so is totally unisex. I for one will be getting this for my little Prince. It’s only £7.99 with an offer via this link here.

I really can’t wait to receive & review more packages from this company. Once Baby T is here I’ll be able to give you all an in depth & better insight as to how user friendly everything is. Maybe even some pics of our bundle enjoying all of his MAM products.

I hope this post has been helpful 🙂 Please let me know if there’s anything in particular you want me write about or review. You can comment on this post or contact me via Twitter here: IxxyPoco if you follow me I’ll follow back just in case you’d prefer to direct message me.
