What’s in My Hospital Bag?

25 Feb

Hi folks ✨

Well… Since Baby T’s birth day is fast approaching I thought I’d share the contents of my hospital bag. I just thought some people may find it helpful. I was a little clueless if I’m honest, about what to pack. So I’ve based my bag around helpful emails from Mothercare, Emma’s Diary Tips, advice from my Midwife & advice from close friends. So… hopefully I’ve covered all bases.

As you can see, me & Baby Bear have 2 separate bags. I’m not going to share the contents of bambino’s bag in photo format as I want to keep his potential coming home outfits under wraps. But in there I have:

  • 23 Diapers (I hate the word nappy)
  • Pack of cotton wool pleats
  • Pack of baby cotton wool pads
  • Sensitive wipes – more for me really – not bambino
  • Sudocrem
  • Bepanthen
  • Johnsons Rash Cream (just in case)
  • 7 Outfits including knitted cardigans
  • 2 Pairs of scratch mitts (just in case)
  • 7 Hats
  • Snowsuit
  • 1 Blanket
  • 1 Baby Shawl
  • 1 Hooded Bath Towel (Just in case)
  • 4 Dribble Bibs
  • 4 Large Muslin Cloths
  • New Born C&G Formula Milk – Just in case I can’t breast feed – hopefully I won’t need it!
  • Travel Changing Mat – just in case

Half way through checking the contents of Baby Bears bag… Coco came in to the nursery to see what I was doing. She’s so cute.

My bag… Well I have more diapers (I have way more in his nursery too in case I need more for in hospital), bath towel, make up (I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t pack some make up essentials… after 6 hrs of surgery to break my leg in 14 places & fit an external frame… I was applying lip gloss & mineral foundation lol), & my toiletries bag.

My toiletries bag includes:

  • Contact Lenses
  • Toothbrush
  • Toothpaste
  • Face Mist
  • Face Wash
  • Under Eye Cream
  • Day Cream
  • Night Cream
  • Shower Gel
  • Body Lotion
  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • Flat Loofer
  • Hair Bobbles
  • Hair Clips
  • Lip Balm
  • Tissues

I also have slippers, cotton robe, 3 Mothercare breast feeding friendly nighties, bedtime nursing bra from Mothercare, regular day time nursing bra from Mothercare, 7 pairs of knickers that are c-section scar friendly & my glasses. I even went & bought 2 pairs of brand new glasses especially for my hospital stay.

Dove deodorant, iPhone charger, hair brush, 1 pack maternity pads, 2 packs sanitary pads – purely because I have heard mixed reports on which are the best to have with you. I do have more packs of both at home. So if need more or favour one type more than the other, then the hubster & my mammy can bring me more in.

I also have another toiletries bag lol, which includes:

  • Mamascarf from Mothercare
  • Flannel
  • Medela & Lansinoh Nibble Balm
  • Garnier Micellar Water Face Wipes
  • 24 Breast Pads
  • Alice Band
  • Tissues
  • 1 Fruit & Veg Bar
  • 3 Alpen Nutty Bars ( I also have 2 large bottles of Evian in my pantry ready to take into hospital)

I’ve not packed my coming home outfit yet… But I will be taking in leggings, maternity tunic & Uggs boots. I’m going for pure comfort. Also, my medical notes are always in my handbag as my consultant told me that I must carry them around with me at all times due to my many complications. Along with my birth plan & my diary for any notes I may need to make etc…

Obviously the day we come home, the hubster will be bringing in baby bears little car seat etc… 💙

So there you have it… That’s what is in my hospital bag. I decided to take my Cath Kidston Foldaway Holdall as it’s so light & very spacious. It also has the removable toiletries bag/zipped pocket. It’s such a handy piece of luggage. I’ve used this bag for my previous operations & hospital stays too.

I hope you’ve found this useful or… just interesting 💙

Thanks again for reading.

Hi Folks

I know a lot of you are searching for that perfect diary right now… Something cute, functional & user friendly. Well, the gorgeous folks down at Paperchase HQ kindly sent me a lovely package to review… & guess what!? There was a lovely little 2016 organiser in the pack.

The organiser is the Ditsy Floral Organiser priced at £16. Now this organiser is totally reusable as you can buy new yearly inserts. So £16 is a mere bargain if you ask me. The little ‘Ditsy’ is seriously cute. It’s pink & chintzy… Very Cath Kidston really. Everyone loves a little retro chintz. It’s also very lightweight – so it’s perfect for on the move. One thing I truly hate is when you have a diary in your bag & all of the pages become torn or crumbled from it opening in you bag. I mean, if you’re anything like me then you’ll have everything but the kitchen sink in your bag with you at all times. so you’ve got your phone, purse, make up bag, umbrella etc… all smashing against your diary. Well, the Ditsy has a little fastening on it, so you’ve no worry of it opening up whilst you’re lugging all of your handbag essentials around with you.

In the front of the Ditsy there’s a great little ‘to do’ list for the day ahead. It’s great for jotting things down really quickly. There’s also a handy pocket in the front & at the back too. So they’re great for holding documents, receipts etc… And lets not forget the essential pen holder on the side! I really hate it when your pen becomes lost at the bottom of your bag. This way… you’ll always know where that pesky pen is! I love nothing more than a divider & a sticker. There’s a great little sheet of stickers to use in the diary section & you can even name some of the dividers. You’ll find some blank sheets at the back too to be able to make notes. All in all – this is a great little pocket organiser that won’t take up too room in your handbag & when you’re in that important meeting at work – all of your colleagues will be sat admiring your cute stationary.

The next item Paperchase sent me was the lovely little Raindrops Index Card Box complete with a set of cards & dividers. This little gem is only £8 to buy & at the moment it’s in a 3 for 2 special buy… You really cannot go not wrong with this desk accessory. It’d be great for any kind of filing. I’m using mine to keep my business contacts in all neat & tidy whilst being super accessible… But you could use it for literally anything… Recipes for example. It’s a great size that won’t take up too much room on your desk, shelf, drawer etc… I have to share our home office with my hubster… but I’m sure he won’t mind if I sneak this little cutie on to the desk 🙂

We all know Paperchase delivers fab looking stationary… but it’s also good quality but don’t just take my word for it… Click the links in this post & purchase some for yourselves. Or pop in store to buy someone a fancy little stocking filler.

Thanks for reading folks & I hope you found the reviews useful! Stay tuned for a review coming up about The Journal Shop.

Evening everyone,

Wowzers! What is up with this weather??? Ned Stark weren’t wrong when he said “Winter is Coming!” I’m bloody freezing!

This was the view from our bedroom window when I got home. Monday is my late finish from work… Well… 8pm. We’ve literally been laying in bed all tucked up watching Game of Thrones. Ooooooo it’s getting good. I’m such a GOT geek!

So this morning started off in my usual getting ready for work kinda way. Oh whislt watching Good Morning Britain too…

Jesse Pavelka was on talking about going sugar free for Summer. Love Jesse.

Breakfast was my fail safe of Weetabix & Semi-Skimmed Milk.

I made myself an epic mountain of food to take to work.

Coucous & Mackeral for lunch, light Babybel, carrot sticks, yogurt & a mugshot. Oh & my diet pop. I made some lush rhubarb Easiyo yogurt yesterday

Easiyo is so nice & it makes 1 litre of yogurt at a time that keeps fresh in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. I’d really recommend it to everyone. The Range have a good stock pile in on York Road. Failing that you can order via QVC or Holland & Barratt.

So, as well as my copious amounts of snacks… I had black coffee to keep me going at work today

I love mugshots… They’re so good for low fat snacks on long days.

When I got home there was a lovely little surprise for me off Sue… Some wide plate GHDs!!! I was so gutted when mine broke last week. I’m going to get them repaired, but now I have this pair too… So until they arrive, I’ll still be able to straighten my hair! I’m still waiting for my Shè ones to arrive too. Can’t wait to review those!

Thanks for my straighteners Sue ❤️ I can’t wait to use these in the morning as I’ve neve used the wide plate ones before & wing hair being really long I think they’ll do it a lot quicker.

Well, this post is gonna be a short & sweet one since I’m literally falling asleep! Promise to write to a longer one tomorrow!

Night nignt people & sweet dreams of all things John Snow & Jaime Lannister ☺️
