Simple Make Up For a Busy Blogger

12 Oct

Hi folks,

Everyones life is going like a million times an hour these days, so we don’t seem to have time for anything. I have to admit that fitting in Mammy-ing, work, blogging, running a business, running a house etc… really does test the 24 small hours we receive each day. So make up needs to be something I can whack on my face in like 15mins.

This blog post is dedicated to my basic everyday make up.

Of a weekend I do take a little longer as I have the luxury of the hubster being off work & therefore available to do some daddy-ing while I do make up. But through the week its like slap it on & run!

Here are my everyday essentials for my 15 min makeover!

  • Make Up Revolution Girls on Film Salvation Palette – today I used shades: ‘Heads Turning & Lipstick Over the Lens’
  • LA Girl Semi Permanent Lip Liner in Natural
  • Younique Lipstick in Upper Class
  • Benefit ‘Goof Proof’ Eyebrow Pencil
  • W7 Argan Eyes Mascara
  • Max Factor Miracle Touch Foundation
  • Max Factor Creme Puff Powder – purely because I like the matte look
  • Benefit Boi-Ing concealer – just in case of any pesky blotches or spots
  • Benefit Rockateur – I mean who even has time to contour!?
  • Younique Eyeshadow Primer
  • Benefit Bad Gal Kohl Eyeliner

I literally never ever leave the house without make up… Unless its either an emergency or that I’m having an operation… well lets face it… having operations is like my pastime lol. But in all seriousness – I was applying my make up like 12hrs after having a c-section. When the nurse walked in my room to take my vitals she just laughed as I was stood at the mirror applying my make up lol. That’s just me though. Plus I wasn’t blessed with being naturally pretty… so any extra help I can get – I’m utterly grateful.

I love wearing make up & it makes me feel so much more confident. I think I’ve perfected the perfect quick & easy time saving make up routine for a Monday to Friday. The Younique eyeshadow primer really does keep your eye make up looking fresh & in place all day. Perfect for when you’re trying to hide those tired eyes.

It’s amazing how a little make up can make you feel so much better.

So there you have it… Quick & easy make up while doing life the IxxyPoco way!

Thanks so much for reading.

Make Up Revolution

11 Oct

Hi Folks,

Last week I tried & tested this beautiful eye make up palette from make Up Revolution. This is the Welcome to the Pleasuredome – Salvation palette. This palette retails for £4 at Superdrug. Yes… you heard me right… I said £4!!! I mean that is just simply ridiculous for a make up palette comprising of 18 shades!!!

I was sent 4 palettes to review so I shall be writing more reviews as I work my way through them all.

Now I have to be honest… I wasn’t expecting much from this make up brand. Its a budget brand & I always work by the motto of “You get what you pay for”. So with not much expectation of this product… I’ve been simply blown away by the quality!!! I love this palette. It’s highly pigmented & I actually didn’t get any fall out. I love Morphe make up palettes too, but certain shades do seem to have a lot of fall out. This Make Up Revolution palette actually didn’t.

I love a brown/bronze eyeshadow tone. The pics below aren’t the greatest. I took two with the front facing camera on my iPhone & the other two on the rear facing with the flash on. 12 of the shadows are shimmery & 6 are matte. The shimmer is beautiful. You can kinda see it on the bottom pics with the flash.

The shadows blend really nicely. I also love the sleek lightweight design of the palette. Even though there is a mirror inside – the palette remains lightweight. It’s also very compact which is great for travel. My only criticism is the applicator you get with it. I actually think they needn’t have it in there. The shadows go on well with a brush & like I said… no fallout. The colour range in the palette is also really good. You’ve got nude demure shades, along with some vibrant stand out shades great for a night out. This would be the perfect travel companion.

I cannot wait to try the other palettes. Among the palettes is the ‘Fortune Favours the Brave’ which looks utterly stunning. I know at one point that particular palette was quite difficult to get a hold of.

There’s nothing more to say other than – BUY this palette! I mean come on… it’s £4!!!

Thanks again for reading!
