12 Weeks to Go…

7 Aug

Hi folks,

I hope you’re all staying safe during this crazy heatwave. I was enjoying it at first… but I have to say, now that my pregnancy is developing I’m starting to suffer in this heat. Talk about swollen ankles & bulging varicose veins. Oh the glamour of it all!

So… with only 12 weeks to go… It’s all full steam ahead here at Thorne Towers in preparing for Little T’s arrival. We’re currently on painting the kitchen, then it’ll be straight onto his Nursery. We have everything – we just need to paint his room & build everything.

Once everything is perfect & sorted in his bedroom… we have the most beautiful soft furnishings from Mothercare. I’m just so excited to see them in his finished nursery.

The quality of these stunning products is superb. I’ve already washed the fitted sheets & quilt ready to go onto the cot bed when it’s put together. They washed so well. It’s so important that anything related washes well! I mean lets face it… everything is just constantly in the wash.

I just love the design. The curtains are lovely & sheer & will look stunning with the roller blind I have chosen.

We have decided on the colour scheme of white & pale grey. So with the little touches of blue in this stunning set – it’s going to really pop. I can’t wait to take pictures of everything once his room is finished. Seth’s room is very colourful & has a space theme, so we wanted something a little different for Little T. Just so they had two different styles of room. Well, until they are choosing their own colour schemes.

Living where we do, we are surrounded by lots of lovely countryside & lots of beautiful ‘off road’ walking areas. So finding a travel system that will adjust from ‘city life’ to ‘county life’ can be a bit of mine field. Luckily for Little T…  he has the stunning 3 Wheel Chrome Journey in Khaki from Mothercare waiting for him.

I love love love this Travel System! It has suspension & shock absorption. The front wheel can swivel or lock – you choose which you’d prefer. It runs smoothly on flat surfaces as well as bumpy more uneven surfaces. Which is perfect for us. And yes… I have taken it on a little test drive already. Maybe I should’ve popped Coco in it for a little spin. Having said that… she is already a tad high maintenance… so I don’t really want to start giving her ideas lol.

The main features:

  • suitable from birth (in pramette mode) to a max. child weight of 15kg
  • comes complete with infant group 0+ car seat. The seat clicks on and off chassis to form a travel system using included adaptors. The car seat is suitable from birth to a max. weight of 13kg/29lbs (approx 12/15 months).
  • the infant car seat is installed in the vehicle using a seatbelt and must always be used in a rearward facing position. Also includes a wedge and liner to provide extra support for newborns
  • car seat with side impact protection
  • reversible pushchair seat unit suitable from 6 months can be attached forward or rear facing
  • lie flat, pram mode suitable from birth and includes pram liner and apron
  • 3-wheels
  • lockable front swivel wheel
  • large, detachable basket with magnetic pouch
  • detachable bumper bar
  • coordinating footmuff, chest pads and weathershield included
  • compact fold with removable wheels
  • coordinating change bag available separately
  • folded dimensions: h66 x w58 x d95cm
  • Free 2 year guarantee

I love the khaki colour, I’ve not seen any khaki prams/ buggy’s to be honest whilst I’ve been out. So I think this is what first caught my attention when I spied it at the Mothercare Press Show last year.

The travel system was really easy to assemble – that’s always a bonus. Especially in this heat! You don’t want to be getting all hot & bothered with an awkward pram. I simply love the adjustable push bar… there’s nothing worse than a pram with no adjustable push bar when you’re quite tall.

When Little T arrives, I shall of course be reviewing this lovely travel system again 🙂

If you’d like to purchase or simply read more about these stunning products – just click the links. Don’t forget that you can always pop into your local Mothercare store to test drive their Travel Systems. Try before you buy… make sure it’s the travel system for you.

I cannot believe how quickly the time is ticking by!

Thank you so much for being on this beautiful journey with me.

As always – thank you for reading! Oh & don’t forget that for daily updates you can follow me on Instagram.

Having A Ramble With the Amble

1 Dec

Hi folks,

We’ve been having a lovely time trying out our new Mothercare Amble Stroller.

Seth is super cosy in it & I think Coco likes it too 🙂

Where we live, we have so many gorgeous areas to go for walks. Me, Seth & Coco love to go for walks. It can sometimes be a little difficult pushing a stroller & walking Coco at the same time, but this stroller has a lovely one hand push. The steering is perfect with just one hand. That’s also handy when you’re holding a shopping basket & pushing the stroller. One hand push is a MUST! It just makes life that little bit easier… & I’m all for an easy life!

You can also feel the shock absorbing suspension when pushing the stroller. It’s perfect for going up & down high curbs etc… Seth has found it to be really comfortable. The Seat is really wide & padded. The stroller also fully reclines too. This stroller is suitable from birth up to 15kg. You can also covert it into a travel System with some adaptors to fit with the Mothercare baby carrier/Car Seat. Perfect!

For being such a substantial stroller it folds down really small. It is also free standing when folded.

It sits perfectly in our porch & takes up hardly no room. No one wants a huge bulky stroller taking up lots of room. If you have a small house or apartment with not a lot of storage – this would be perfect! It’ll also be perfect for travel. It takes up hardly no space in our boot when out & about. So if you drive a smaller car – there’s no need to think you need to upgrade to a bigger car… this is the perfect stroller for smaller boot.

Mothercare also make some lovely cosy toes that fit lovely with this stroller perfect for the cold weather.

Super snuggly for cold winter days.

There’s a lovely little feature that I adore. Underneath the seat on the bottom, there is a zipped pocket where your raincover lives! That means your basket is always free for shopping etc… I always find my basket is taken up with a raincover… well… not no more!

There’s a really good YouTube video to give you a full rundown on how it all works.

So… heres a little rundown of the main features:

  • suitable from birth to max. weight of 15kg
  • high quality, lightweight, aluminium frame
  • soft, padded seat unit
  • reclining back rest
  • adjustable foot rest
  • chest pads for your little ones comfort
  • large rear wheels and lockable 360° swivel front wheels
  • easy, one hand push
  • shock absorbing suspension
  • brake on both rear wheels for optimum safety
  • large shopping basket
  • hood with SPF50 fabric
  • travel system compatible using adaptors (available separately)
  • small, compact fold
  • free standing when folded
  • unfolded Dimensions: D92.5xW64xH101 cm
  • folded Dimensions: H48xW22xD66 cm
  • pushchair Weight: 8.2 kg
  • includes hood and raincover

The overall look of this stroller is absolutely stunning… it looks super expensive, classy & a bit of a head turner. We went to see the Coca Cola truck at the weekend & a lady in the queue asked me what brand it was as she liked the look of it… now it’s always nice to get a compliment & let’s face it… how something looks is always a big when choosing what to buy. With Mothercare you know you’re going to get top quality… without a ridiculous price tag. Also, with this buggy converting to a travel system – you’d save so much money. That’s something to think about if you’re a parent to be. Saving money where you can is essential when planning your new arrival.

Me & Seth will be reviewing the new Mothercare Journey Travel System very soon, if it arrives before our Christmas vacation, we’ll be able to put it through it’s paces in Sherwood Forest. There’s lots of different terrain to test it out on & I’m sure it’ll look stunning in the forest. So keep your beautiful peepers peeled for that one!

Thanks so much as always for reading!

Love & huggles & happy December 1st!

London Adventures and Mothercare Must-Haves!

23 Nov

Hi folks,

What a little adventure I had last week down in London for the Mothercare SS 2018 Press Show.

So… London… now we all know I’m not a Londoner. I really only head on down there when I’m attending a Press Show. Normally when I get there I either walk to the venue or I get a cab. But let’s face it… London is a rather large place & cabs are rather pricey… the most obvious solution is The Tube… yikes! The thought of travelling & navigating the tube on my own has always filled me with dread. But last week I decided I was going to conquer it! And I did! Granted, I only travelled 5 stops… but I still did it. And… when I arrived at the Mothercare Press Show the lovely folk supplied me with a glass of sparkles… so it was almost like a mini celebration of my little victory! Hurrah!

Little Bird & Prosecco… what a way to start the day. My days normally start with a luke warm cup of tea & Disney Junior… so last Thursday was a treat.

Right… so let’s get on to the fabulous new collections from Mothercare!

The new MyK Collection is just utterly stunning. I’m completely in love with the new bedding, rug & storage bin. If baby Number 2 ever happens for us… you can expect MyK bedding to feature in my nursery. I love the grey tones in the clothes. Grey is actually my favourite colour on Seth. Grey to me is always a very understated colour/shade. There’s something very classic about it all.

As always – the Little Bird range never fails to make you fall in love. The vibrant colours as always are utterly stunning. The new bedding is beautiful. The bedding would brighten up any child’s bedroom. I’m actually thinking of purchasing the rainbow rug for Seth’s bedroom as it’d fit so well with his multicolour theme. The detailing on all of the Little Bird clothing is always top notch. For me it’s the small details that make the outfit & also convey the quality.

So here’s some exciting news… imagine being able to have a Little Bird Stroller…

The sheer excitement I felt when I got to look at & touch these gorgeous strollers!!! Completely in love with them. Absolutely beautiful & really comfy. Not that I sat in one – but I did have a good feel & squidge.

More exciting news… who loves the Usbourne ‘That’s Not My…” book range? We do we do! Seth adores the books… we have oodles of them. Well… Mothercare have teamed with Usbourne & brought out the most gorgeous range.

I just love love love these little outfits! Gorgeous colours, beautiful design & lovely soft fabric. I really need to get my skates on with adding a new baby Thorne to our little family.

Smile by Julien MacDonald always delivers a lovely elegance. I love the pale pastel tones. For all the range is very elegant, it’s also very ‘wearable’ if that’s a word. Your little one will not only look gorgeous & elegant, but they’ll also be lovely & comfy. There’s nothing worse than a little one all trussed up in uncomfortable clothing. No worries with this gorgeous range though… lovely soft fabrics that just so happen to look beautiful too!

The new Mothercare Trends Collection has something to suit all personalities with; Trend Denim, Trend Little Explorer, Trend Nomad, Trend City Sailor, Trend Heritage & Trend Pom Pom. Lots of lovely colours & designs making sure that there’s something for everyone. No one is missed out in this fabulous new range. I loved the Little Explorer selection… this is just Seth to a T!

Now… let’s move on to Bags & Buggies!

Now, you all know the trials & tribulations I’ve gone through when trying to find the perfect changing bag. I just simply have never been able to find it! Mothercare have a new range that looks fantastic! I’m going be getting my very own Black Backpack Changing Bag to test, try & review… I’m super excited! I’m hoping that this could be the one! I’ll of course share my findings when it arrives. I’m also going to be reviewing the new Mothercare Journey Travel System in Khaki Green. Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how beautiful it is!? It looks perfect for all terrain usage. We live pretty much in the countryside surrounded by lots of lovely places to walk. I’m thinking the Journey will be ideal! We also holiday within the UK at Center Parcs etc… so testing this out on all the forest walks in Sherwood Forest will be brilliant! We actually go on holiday there in 4weeks!!! Again, I shall let you know what I think when it arrives.

After a thorough look through all of the new collections I went for a lovely Italian lunch with my lovely PR friend from Joie.

Keep those peepers pealed for another Joie Car Seat Review in the New Year!

After a busy but enjoyable day… I headed on back to Kings Cross – via the tube – and managed to catch 5 mins or so to have myself a small bottle of sparkles & a chance to make some notes on the day.

Dare I say… I actually love London a little bit!?

I had such a fantastic day. Please keep a lookout for all of the new collections being launched. You will not be disappointed! Mothercare is that household name that you know you can trust. The new collections will literally make you fall in love. Oh & why not head to their website for some Black Friday deals!? I mean… it’d be rude not too! Think of all the Christmas bargains you could bag!!!

Thanks so much as always for reading!

Making Memories

23 Jun

Hi folks

How stunning has the weather been lately? I love the Summer days when you can go out & about with family. But I also love those days what you can stay home & have fun in the garden… Making those all important memories with your nearest & dearest.

We’ve been having so much fun with our goodies from The Early Centre. We have lots of work to do in our new garden before it’s 100% perfect & how we want it… but for now it’ll do. With our ELC goodies it’s so easy to transform it into our very own little fun playground for Seth.

So, what have we been having fun with?

Racer Car Pool

Seth adores this pool. The great thing about this pool is that it has a little roof on it, which gives a little sun protection by casting some shade. This pool is priced at £30. You’d easily get 2 children in this pool for playtime splash time. We added some ball pit balls to make it a little more fun & interesting. Seth loved the squeaky horn on the steering wheel. One thing you definitely need for this pool is an electrical pump. With an electrical pump it’s ready to use in minutes. Obviously we kept the water level really low with Seth only being little.

Hexagon Ball Pit

We’d definitely recommend this ball pit. We’ve played with it almost every day. We’ve played with it in the garden but also indoors when the weather hasn’t been good. Seth’s even had his friends over to play in it. The balls are nice & soft so there’s no need to worry about any ‘ouchies’ occuring. The pit itself is really easy to assemble… well put it this way… I can do it! The balls come in a great carry bag too which is ideal for storage when you pack it away. This ball pit is priced at £20 & in my eyes it’s an utter bargain. Seth loves it so much. Fab for hand eye coordination & burning off energy before bedtime. It’s also great for parents who want to shed some pounds… I’ve been running around all over the place collecting the balls as Seth finds it hilarious to tip them all out. All good fun lol.

Bubbly Fish Flora – Bubble Machine

Doesn’t everyone love a bubble machine!? Seth goes to baby groups where they use bubble machines & he’s always loved them. So we decided he needed a one of his own. This bubble machine is fab for sensory stimulation & imaginative play. Seth gets so giddy with bubbles. This machine literally filled our garden & started to float over to the neighbours gardens… we are definitely the toddler party garden. This bubble machine is fab for play in the garden & I’d say it’s essential for parties. Priced at £16 – it’s a bargain. So much fun.

Who knew it could be this simple to transform your outdoor space into a little fun playground for the Summer. Then… when winter hits you can still have fun indoors with your ball pit! Perfect!!!

We still have My First Slide & the Water Play Table to review too… so you can look forward to those very soon!

Thanks so much for reading & I hope you’ve found this little review useful!

“Play is the Highest Form of Research” – Albert Einstein

5 Jun

Hi folks

Seth’s been having so much fun playing with his gorgeous new toys from The Early Learning Centre

In our pack of goodies we received:

In this review I’ll be focussing on the Singing Animal Keyboard & Wooden Magnetic Garden Friends Train. We’ve just moved house & we’re in the process of making the garden ‘Seth’ friendly – so I shall be reviewing the outdoor toys VERY soon 🙂

I love traditional wooden toys. There’s something ‘timeless’ about a wooden toy. They’re the sorts of toys our grand parents & great grand parents were learning & playing with. Let’s face it… bambinos can be rather heavy handed with their toys & wooden toys are so durable. And quite simply… wooden toys always look so beautiful.

The fact that this set is so durable is a total godsend… Seth likes to put his toys through their paces lol. This train track has been used as drum sticks on more than one occasion. I can tell you now that it is still in mint condition. So if you have a heavy handed child.. this is the toy for them. The lovely little train carriages are magnetic too. Each carriage is a beautifully painted garden friend.

The train track can be fitted together in lots of different ways too. Great for problem solving & developing motor skills. Seth has found the magnetic trains so intriguing. I don’t think he can quite work out how they stick together. Right now this train set is on offer for £10!!! Get it while you can! You could even buy it then pop it away for Christmas!

The Singing Animal Keyboard is so sweet. It’s a lovely little twist on a regular keyboard. Seth loves that each key makes the animals move & sing. It’s been great for teaching Seth different noises that animals make. Also… it’s not too loud. I mean let’s face it… as a parent some toys can be so loud & cringey lol. But this toy is just lovely.

Again – it’s really robust. It’s been able to withstand a full on Seth tantrum where it was quite lietrally launched from end of the room to the other… if it can withstand that… then this toy is practically indestructible 🙂

I just cannot wait to get out in the garden with Seth’s ‘outdoor’ toys. You can expect a review rather soon!

Did you know that you get free delivery from the ELC when you use the Click & Collect option? Or… free home delivery when you spend £40 or more.

I know I’ve said before… but I shall say it again… The Early Learning Centre is a brand that has stood the test of time. It’s a household name that we all know & trust. The quality of these toys is top notch. You never have to worry about quality & safety.

I hope you’ve found this review useful & enjoyable.

Thanks as always for reading,

Love & huggles,

London Adventures

17 May

Hi folks,

Wowzers… last Wednesday was so much fun! Travelling to London on your own is always a little nerve-racking I find. I’m just not a regular London visitor… so the whole fast paced hustle & bustle is somewhat scary to me. But… I packed my Vivienne Westwood safari bag armed with my Mac, IxxyPoco Planner & a map installed on my iPhone courtesy of the hubster. He’s a good’un! So… off I went for my London adventure!

First stop was the Mothercare A/W Press Show. Just wow wow wow! This Press Show did not disappoint.

So… first of all… the new collections…

Little Bird by Jools Oliver
… the new collection literally encompasses everything that we know & adore about Little Bird. Colourful, vibrant & definitely designs to make our bambino’s stand out from the crowd. The signature rainbow colours are present along with some lovely little designs & patterns. There’s plenty casual wear & some gorgeous outfits for special occasions. Lovely soft, comfy fabrics too which is always essential for our little ones when they’re wanting to nap one minute & climb every piece of furniture in sight the next.

MyK by Myleene Klass…

I just simply love love love the MyK range. There’s the signature monchrome with some mustard tones thrown in there too. Cute panda designs & fabulous leopard prints. The fabrics are so lovely… chic, yet soft & easy to wear for our little ones. Nice soft fabric with flexibility to allow little ones to be able to crawl, roll & run around. I love Seth to look smart – but I also want him to be comfortable at the same time. This range is so perfect for that. And Myleene is just so lovely & even prettier in real life… how annoying. I need to up my ‘glammy Mammy’ game I think.

Smile by Julien MacDonald…

The Smile range boasts some fantastic occasion wear. Gorgeous pastels & plenty of frills. I always think this range says ‘extravagance’. Whilst being shown around the collection I was told the price of this range has been dropped too… so that’s always good news for the old purse strings.

Blooming Marvellous…

I adored this range of maternity wear whilst I was pregnant. Staying trendy can be really hard when you’re pregnant. Especially when you have a special event to attend. This collection is so beautiful… lots of sparkle & shimmer… comfy fabrics & clever little tops that will be fantastic for discreet breast feeding. All of the shimmer & sparkle will be perfect for the party season.

I loved this quirky little slogan tee shirt

Mothercare/Heritage Collection…

I love soft greys & whites on babies. Mothercare have some gorgeous baby garments. Stunning little pieces that are quite simple really – but very classic. Along with their new bedding & nursery furniture.

Simply adored the Heritage Collection… it was all very regal & rather British. Princess Charlotte & Prince George spring to mind. Gorgeous little outfits. Lots of bold colours & traditional London designs such has Royal Palace Guards & London Landmarks. Perfect for your little Princes & Princesses.

The Early Learning Centre have some gorgeous new toys hitting our shelves… in fact. I have a review coming up soon all about the amazing toys Seth received. ELC is such a trusted household name, you can always rely on the ELC stamp of approval to deliver educational, fun toys that also safe.

After being shown around the new collections & soaking up the atmosphere. Clemmie Hooper & Elizabeth Day hosted a fantastic talk & Q&A session all about the new Baby Box by Eve.

The Baby Box by Eve will go on sale exclusively to Mothercare in June 2017 priced at £99

The box has been exclusively designed by Clifford Richards. Much of his work can been seen in the Victoria & Albert Museum.

So… What’s in the box?

  • Sleep safe tips
  • Jersey fitted 2 pack crib sheets – white
  • CTN cellular moses/crib blanket white (core white)
  • MC 3pk embroidered muslins
  • NB dribbler white 2pk
  • Water Wipes
  • 2 x white bodysuit
  • 1 sleepsuit white
  • 1 white hat
  • 1 white cuddle and dry
  • Flora box includes 1 bear blanket and rattle
  • Fauna box includes 1 elephant plush and blanket

The box also includes a safe & snuggly mattress. The mattress inside the babybox is created by eve’s team of mattress experts and is made of specialist nursery grade high density foam. The cover is washable (at 60 degrees) and quick drying. It is ultra-breathable, thanks to the use of Cairfull ® fabric, and is 400 times more breathable than a standard mattress fabric. The 3D spacer technology in the fabric means that airflow can move from side to side and up and down, providing extra ventilation, moisture regulation, resilience and comfort for your baby. The box will also include tips for safe sleeping.

Love love love the Baby Box. It’d make such a gorgeous Baby Shower gift.

The Q&A with Clemmie was utterly fantastical. Meeting her was so nice. As a first time Mammy, you often worry about doing things right & if everyone else is doing a better job. With social media being such a dominant thing in our lives these days, we’re often bombarded with these ‘glammy Mammy’s’ who make motherhood look so easy. It was kind of nice to hear from Clemmie that she has the same thoughts & worries just like the rest of us.

Why do I look so serious there on the back row!?

Here’s a brief little summary of the Q&A…

  • How do you safeguard whilst being so Insta Famous

This was something I was really interested in. Working in the social media field, you do worry daily about the exposure of your children. Clemmie is very careful not to publish or post any photos of her family that could show them in a bad light. Also, bath time & holiday snaps would be very carefully chosen.

  • Nighttime Routine

I was actually sat next too Naomi Isted & we both asked questions on nighttime routines. Clemmie seems like a very relaxed Mammy. I worry about self soothing & controlled crying. I’m a very clingy Mammy I’d say & we still put Seth to bed after a cuddle & he’s nodded off. Seth sleeps around 12 to 14hrs. Clemmie said this is perfectly fine & if it works for Seth & it works for us. I think sometimes you just need that little bit of reassurance. Clemmie was all about finding what works best for your little family.

  • Sharing your time with all 4 children

Hearing how Clemmie manages her time with all 4 of her children was fascinating to me. Well… we only have Seth. The thought of having another is so exciting but also so scary. It was lovely hear that Clemmie & her husband work as a team to make sure all 4 girls receive all of the love & attention they need.

  • Any tips for first time parents

I loved that Clemmie was so down to earth & said basically just walk around with a muslin cloth constantly. I think I spent the first 9 month of Seth’s life with a muslin cloth draped over my shoulder. Also… have a good girl gang. That group of mammy’s you need around you to reassure you that you aren’t alone & that what you’re doing is right. I personally couldn’t live without my girl gang of Mammy’s.

  • Visitors after baby is born

It was lovely to hear that it’s not just you who feels tired of visitors in those first few weeks. Making cups of tea & waiting on visitors isn’t fun really. Clemmie gave some fab advice… just stay in bed 🙂

  • Things you couldn’t live without as a first time Mam

Microwave & Muslin Cloths. Let’s face it… you never get to drink a hot cup of tea so your microwave is essential.

  • Managing work & parenting

This is something I think about a lot. Clemmie had great advice of arranging special trips out with the children individually & as a family too. Like I said… it’s just nice to know we all have the same concerns & that we’re all becoming skilled at juggling life. Also… at 5pm… turn the laptop off. Don’t answer those emails. Have a cut off time.

So… after a fantastic morning spent at the Mothercare Press Show I headed over for coffee & a choccie muffin with the gorgeous Ena. What a lovely meeting & catch up we had. It’s always lovely to meet up in person after months of emails going back & forth. I’m going to have some lovely Joie UK products to review over the rest of the year. I’ll have a one coming up very soon all about the Joie Every Stage FX Car Seat.

During our catch up I even got to try a shot of the new nitro cold brew.

So… after a fun filled morning at Mothercare & an afternoon of chatting with Ena… it was time to head back to the station. I managed to squeeze in a cheeky glass of vino & a little work before my train arrived.

It was such a fantastic day. It was also good for my separation anxiety. I literally have no time away from Seth, apart from my 1hr a week to do my driving lessons. So… this was just another step for me. Seth had a whale of time with his Nana… I don’t even think he’d noticed I wasn’t there. I guess that’s good… at least I know he’s a super confident little boy.

I’ve got a lovely review coming up for The Early Learning Centre… Seth is currently trying & testing some gorgeous toys. I’ve also got a fantastic review coming up for the Joie Every Stage FX Car Seat which falls in line with the new car seat laws. And… I’ll have another Nuby review coming up soon too. So much to look forward too.

As always… thank you so much for reading.

Love & Huggles,

Mothercare S/S 2017 Press Launch

11 Nov

Hi folks ✨

Wow… what a day yesterday was! I felt like I was on a right mission heading down to London all on my own with nothing but my trusty iPhone & Pink Mac Air. I was a little nervous I have to admit… I’ve only ever been to London 3 times & certainly never alone. When you’re not a seasoned Londoner… it can be a little daunting with its fast paced lifestyle & hustle & bustle… But… I survived & I actually quite enjoyed it!

So… why was I in London? Well, I was invited to attend the Spring Summer 2017 Press Launch by the very lovely Head of PR at Mothercare. The whole thing was held in a very lovely art space… rather tiny loo though… but thats another story for later on!

The collection is utterly fabulous. Little Bird by Jools Oliver… what a stunning little collection. Everything is based around Rainbow babies which I love. The pieces in the collection are so beautifully designed… vibrant & fantastical. Jools has also designed some stunning bedding too all within the theme. Can you imagine a gorgeous Rainbow Nursery… How wonderful.

Smile by Julien MacDonald is so verycute. I loved the animal designs… simple but cute. The fabrics were lovely too – very soft. He has also designed some gorgeous statement pieces for special occasion. Beautiful little gowns… so pretty. Such elegant little dresses. Although… I don’t know how elegant they’d stay on a 6month old weaning bambino lol.

My favourite collection though has to be MY K by Myleene Klass. I even got to meet the lady herself! Remember that loo story from earlier? Yes… I met her in the Loo queue! How lovely lol. But I have to say that Myleene was absolutely gorgeous… as a person & looking. She’s so tiny/ & beautiful. She showed me her lovely new collection which I’m simply in love with! I adored all of the leopard print & the cute little eyelash socks… well… sleeping eyes… but they made me think of false eyelashes. The fabrics are so lovely & soft. I have this thing about soft baby clothes… Seth is now 34 weeks old & very close to walking. He’s been crawling for ages. My pet hate is baby clothes that are too restrictive & tight fitting. Babies need soft clothes that they can crawl & tumble in whilst being all comfy & cosy. This collection is beautiful, trendy & comfy – what’s not to love.

The new collection of Blooming `Marvellous maternity wear is fantastic. Very trendy whilst providing that generous amount of fabric to the ever-growing beautiful bump. The worst thing in the world is feeling frumpy when you’re heavily pregnant. So it’s nice to have that go to range for current up to date maternity wear.

Mothercare have a gorgeous new ‘newborn’ range. We all love baby milestone cards, well, their new collection is inspired by milestones…. My First Valentines Day, My First Mothers Day, 3 Months etc… so sweet.

The new Orla Kiely Grobag Range is stunning & very typical Orla. Beautiful patterns & designs with a very 70s edge in the colours. Very very pretty & very classic. It’s nice to have statement pieces. These Grobags would be lovely baby shower gifts. I don’t use them now, but when Seth was still in his SnuzPod I used them a lot.

MotherCare have launched the most stunning stroller! The Nanu prints are beautiful & vibrant. I have the Cosatto Woop Rev travel system… the main thing I love about it is the print. So you can imagine my giddiness when I spied these new lovelies! I love an eye catching print… these strollers do not disappoint! I was given a demonstration on how easy & well they fold away… perfect for City Life & Travel.

Downstairs there was an array of new toys from the Early Learning Centre. Beautiful, colourful & well made. ELC is such a well known & trusted name.

I had such a fab time at the launch… It was so lovely to be invited & to receive my little goody bag.

Afterwards I had little walk over to Liberty of London… well it’s a must isn’t it!? As I was walking in to the handbag hall, I spotted Dame Maggie Smith!!! I wish I’d asked her for a selfie, but I was simply too star struck! Want an utter legend that lady is! I headed straight up to the Christmas Shop where I purchased 2 baubles & a tin of Shortbread Biscuits. On my way out I almost purchased a new Bobbi Brown & NARS lipstick… but I used every single ounce of my self control & backed away from the make up counters… I mean… How many nude lipsticks can one girl have!?

After all of that I was ridiculously hungry… so headed on over to Wasabi for some much needed Sushi!!! It was simply divine. Then I decided to head on to the pub for a well earned glass of vino. Plus it gave me a chance to rest & recoup & do a little work.

I’ve so enjoyed my little jolly to the capital. I actually never really go places on my own, well I mean places away from home. It was so bizarre leaving the house today without a changing bag & pram. I was scared about this trip… but I’ve loved very minute. It’s given me a huge confidence boost. I think I need more trips to London! I have a new found love of the place. Although… it was rather exhausting lol.

There you have it… that was my little London Adventure. I hope you enjoy the pics of the new collections! Thank you as always for reading!

Bumbags and Parenting

8 Apr

Hi folks ✨

Bumbags/Fanny Packs… What a strange fashion era that was! Although… You do still spot a few around don’t you!? Lol. Well… I bought an amazing little accessory for Seth’s pram. I bought us a Skip Hop Pram Orgnaiser… Or as I like to call it… The Pram Bumbag or for my American readers: Pram Fanny Pack. It’s ace! You know when you’re strolling along & suddenly you have a situation which requires immediate attention from a muslin cloth or a soother… Or the all important hand sanitizer or lippy touch up!? Well this accessory supports all of the above. It attaches around your handle bars… Do you even call it a handle bar!? I’m so not up on the Mammy lingo yet lol. Anyways… It attaches to the area that you use to steer your pram & you can keep all the things in there you need pronto.

There’s also a zippy pocket on the front you can use to keep a bit of change in or your iPhone etc… In our bumbag we have:

  • Muslin Cloth
  • Soother/Pacifier/Dummy (I hate the word dummy)
  • Tissues
  • Hand Sanitiser
  • Bottle of Water
  • Compact Mirror
  • Lipstick

Obviously you don’t want to overload it… But it’s so handy! It’s really well made too. I only paid £22 for it from Ocado… So it was delivered along with my groceries… How convenient is that!? I love anything that organises things & makes life easier! Oh & if it vaguely resembles any kind of a bag… Then you’re onto a winner in my eyes lol.

These last two weeks have consisted of getting used to driving my pram – yes if I pass you in the street then there’s a high chance I’ll totally now you down. The pram steers so well… Me…? Not so much lol. I’m the worlds most clumsy person. There’s also been a lot of lunches out. Purely so I can get used to feeding Seth in public & using changing facilities. I may sound stupid but those two things really kinda worried me a bit. But… It’s all been great. I think I’m actually more confident that I give myself credit for. Some people have always looked after babies & have a natural maternal flare. But I’ve never babysat in my life… I’d never really changed a nappy & certainly never gotten a babies wind up! I’ve literally had to fathom everything from scratch. But you know what!? My Mam was right… Everything came so naturally. It’s like I just knew what to do. So many people ask; “So… How are you finding it!?” “Are you stressed?” “It’s so much hard work isn’t it!?” Well… Yeah… It is hard work in the sense that you now have this gorgeous but helpless little person who needs you 24/7 & you feel constantly concerned for him coz you just want him to be content. But… Being a Mammy so far, for me, is so much easier than being pregnant. I’m not scared to admit that pregnancy for me was super hard. I had months of no sleep with extreme pain… I was constantly throwing up… Etc… Etc… I mean the good side of being poorly a lot in pregnancy meant I had a lot of time on my hands to organise & get ready for Seth’s arrival. And you can never be too prepared. But once Seth arrived… My pain massively reduced… I had no more sickness & I felt like me again. I adore being a Mammy 💙

 Lunch pics:

These platters were consumed on two separate occasions lol… Not at the same time. It’s fair to say that my fave wine bar makes the most amazing sharing platters. They also serve tea… Just in case you think I’ve been a total a wino all week lol.

Also in these last two weeks I have been fully inducted into the ‘Not So Glammy Mammy Club’… I’ve been pooped on… Wee’d on & puked on! Woo hoo! At least I now know what to expect lol. Maybe I should pop some perfume or fabreeze in that pram bumbag? I may be wearing make up & trying to look my best… But chances are I’ll be sporting a eau de vommy toilet aroma lol.

Wow… I never expected to write the words: Poop, Wee, Puke & Bumbags in a blog post. But hey… That’s parenting! Lol. You know what though!? I wouldn’t change it for the world, coz now I have the most amazing little human in my life

Well… I’d best dash… My little human will need his breakfast very soon 💙

Thanks again for reading!

What’s in My Hospital Bag?

25 Feb

Hi folks ✨

Well… Since Baby T’s birth day is fast approaching I thought I’d share the contents of my hospital bag. I just thought some people may find it helpful. I was a little clueless if I’m honest, about what to pack. So I’ve based my bag around helpful emails from Mothercare, Emma’s Diary Tips, advice from my Midwife & advice from close friends. So… hopefully I’ve covered all bases.

As you can see, me & Baby Bear have 2 separate bags. I’m not going to share the contents of bambino’s bag in photo format as I want to keep his potential coming home outfits under wraps. But in there I have:

  • 23 Diapers (I hate the word nappy)
  • Pack of cotton wool pleats
  • Pack of baby cotton wool pads
  • Sensitive wipes – more for me really – not bambino
  • Sudocrem
  • Bepanthen
  • Johnsons Rash Cream (just in case)
  • 7 Outfits including knitted cardigans
  • 2 Pairs of scratch mitts (just in case)
  • 7 Hats
  • Snowsuit
  • 1 Blanket
  • 1 Baby Shawl
  • 1 Hooded Bath Towel (Just in case)
  • 4 Dribble Bibs
  • 4 Large Muslin Cloths
  • New Born C&G Formula Milk – Just in case I can’t breast feed – hopefully I won’t need it!
  • Travel Changing Mat – just in case

Half way through checking the contents of Baby Bears bag… Coco came in to the nursery to see what I was doing. She’s so cute.

My bag… Well I have more diapers (I have way more in his nursery too in case I need more for in hospital), bath towel, make up (I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t pack some make up essentials… after 6 hrs of surgery to break my leg in 14 places & fit an external frame… I was applying lip gloss & mineral foundation lol), & my toiletries bag.

My toiletries bag includes:

  • Contact Lenses
  • Toothbrush
  • Toothpaste
  • Face Mist
  • Face Wash
  • Under Eye Cream
  • Day Cream
  • Night Cream
  • Shower Gel
  • Body Lotion
  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • Flat Loofer
  • Hair Bobbles
  • Hair Clips
  • Lip Balm
  • Tissues

I also have slippers, cotton robe, 3 Mothercare breast feeding friendly nighties, bedtime nursing bra from Mothercare, regular day time nursing bra from Mothercare, 7 pairs of knickers that are c-section scar friendly & my glasses. I even went & bought 2 pairs of brand new glasses especially for my hospital stay.

Dove deodorant, iPhone charger, hair brush, 1 pack maternity pads, 2 packs sanitary pads – purely because I have heard mixed reports on which are the best to have with you. I do have more packs of both at home. So if need more or favour one type more than the other, then the hubster & my mammy can bring me more in.

I also have another toiletries bag lol, which includes:

  • Mamascarf from Mothercare
  • Flannel
  • Medela & Lansinoh Nibble Balm
  • Garnier Micellar Water Face Wipes
  • 24 Breast Pads
  • Alice Band
  • Tissues
  • 1 Fruit & Veg Bar
  • 3 Alpen Nutty Bars ( I also have 2 large bottles of Evian in my pantry ready to take into hospital)

I’ve not packed my coming home outfit yet… But I will be taking in leggings, maternity tunic & Uggs boots. I’m going for pure comfort. Also, my medical notes are always in my handbag as my consultant told me that I must carry them around with me at all times due to my many complications. Along with my birth plan & my diary for any notes I may need to make etc…

Obviously the day we come home, the hubster will be bringing in baby bears little car seat etc… 💙

So there you have it… That’s what is in my hospital bag. I decided to take my Cath Kidston Foldaway Holdall as it’s so light & very spacious. It also has the removable toiletries bag/zipped pocket. It’s such a handy piece of luggage. I’ve used this bag for my previous operations & hospital stays too.

I hope you’ve found this useful or… just interesting 💙

Thanks again for reading.

Being a Glammy Mammy to Be

15 Feb

Hi folks ✨

I hope you’ve all had an amazing Valentines weekend ❤️

Over this last week I’ve been out & about wearing my stunning maternity dresses that I was sent from Mothercare.

On Tuesday I went out for tea & cake with a friend to one of my favourite places in the little Village where I live. I decided to wear my Oh Ma! Grey & Navy Knitted Maternity Dress which is priced at £40. This dress is so lovely, comfortable & fits perfectly over my bump. I’m now 33 weeks pregnant & my bump is increasing everyday – I’m already pretty big in the bump department haha.

There are no zips or buttons. So this literally just pulls on which is great. The knit is very generous too. Before becoming pregnant I was a size 12 & now I’m a size 16. The dress I’m wearing is a large. It’s great as it’s roomy & not restricting at all. I’m actually considering taking this into hospital with me & wearing it as my outfit for coming home in. I wore the dress with a pair of black maternity leggings. I love the dress as I felt trendy & glam. I’ve found that some maternity brands can make you feel fat & frumpy. I’d seriously recommend this garment… you could easily dress it up or down with the right make up & jewelry.

The second dress I was sent to try is the Blooming Marvelous Stripped Midi Dress priced at £32. Like the Oh Ma! dress, this dress has no buttons, zips or fastenings. It’s a pull on style of dress. I went for the size 16 & it’s a very generous fit with plenty room to grown into. I wore the dress with a pair of black maternity tights. Yet again – super comfy & I felt really nice & dressed in it. I actually wore this Valentine’s weekend.

I found that the colours & design are super flattering & I even got a few compliments on it. Now a compliment is always very much appreciated when you feel the size of a whale! Again, with the right jewelry, make up & accessories – this dress can easily be dressed up.

The great thing about both dresses are the lengths. ‘Non-maternity’ wear can ride up & make you feel a little exposed. Both dresses are a great length. I’m 5ft 8″ & the lengths are perfect.

Now I just need to get more social events scheduled in so I can show off my lovely dresses!

I was also sent a lovely pale pink Night Dress & Robe Set priced at £30.

I’ve popped these straight into my hospital bag ready to take in with me for when my little bambino arrives. I will give a more in depth review of the robe & nightdress after my hospital stay. But, what I can say is that I love that it’s breast feeding friendly with drop down clip/straps. I have this in a size large – well you want your night wear nice & loose & roomy don’t you. The robe is perfect for hospital as it’s a lovey thin cotton. Anything thicker is just too stiffling for when you’re in hospital as it’s always so hot & stuffy in there.

Last but by no means least… I was also sent the Mamascarf in Navy which is priced at £17.99. Again, my full review will come after my beautiful bambino arrives. I’m super excited to try the Mamascarf as I’ve been a little anxious about the thought of breastfeeding in public. I’m such a clumsy person & the thought of exposing myself in public just fills me with dread. But this beautiful scarf will hopefully protect my modesty. So please keep your peepers peeled for that!

Well, once again – I hope you’ve found this review useful & thanks so much for reading!
